Weekly Devotional

Psalm 1

Scripture: Psalm 1:1-5

1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. (NIV)

This week God desires that you and I meditate on this chapter and devote ourselves to keeping it in our hearts and on our lips. Let’s delight in reading it both in the morning and the evening to strengthen our relationship with God. Verse 2 says that we should delight and meditate day and night on God’s Law, which is His Word, if we are to be blessed. I believe that if we slowly read and study this chapter then our relationship with God will be strengthened, God will move on our behalf and our relationship will be better with Him. I encourage you to read it day and night along with our monthly scriptures on faith, this will not only increase your understanding, knowledge and wisdom in the Word of God it will feed you like it says in verse 3 and whatever you do will prosper because of the power of the Word of God.
