Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
This is truly one of the most powerful scriptures in the Bible. It tells us so much about God’s unlimited ability and causes us to look within ourselves. Many of us do not really realize the power that we possess to move God to do great things in our lives. God is waiting to bless us and show His unlimited and miraculous power, but we are often too afraid to tap into all of Him. Imagine it like this: God has told you that I have deposited funds in your account for you to live the best life possible; all you have to do is withdraw from those funds to live the life I have promised you. Our big problem is that we spend our whole life living as if there are limited funds in the account and trying to figure out the balance on the account. This is truly not a faith-filled outlook. This is God we are talking about His resources are unlimited and never-ending. He owns everything and would never put His children in a place of not having enough to fulfill His promise. Stop living a small life when you have been given the funds to live the best life possible. What God is telling us in this passage is that we have within each of us is the power to accomplish every task that we are assigned. God has deposited power within us to be utilized for His work in our lives and the lives of others. We also have the power within to see the fulfillment of every promise of God. This is an interesting dynamic at work because what God is saying to us is that He will release and unleash exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think based on the power that is at work in us. It falls on us; God is going to move according to the level of faith, trust and power at work in us. On top of that He promises to do more than even we can ask or think. That means that God is waiting to grant to us abundant blessings but it is contingent upon the power working in us. In order for us to partake of the exceeding abundant blessings of God we must:
Acknowledge God’s ability -It is most important to acknowledge that God is the only one who has the ability to fulfill such a promise. God is able to do more than we can humanly comprehend. Remember that it was God who made the universe out of nothing, made only one you and constantly does that which is miraculous in the earth. God is able to give you what no one else can ever provide: peace, health, life, true prosperity, a good name, wisdom and understanding, etc. God has limitless ability that is available to us all.
Unleash God’s power -To unleash God’s power requires two simple things: faith and obedience. If we believe God (trust in Him wholeheartedly) and do what He says do then we have touched God’s heart and He will move on our behalf like we have never seen before. The power that is at work in us as described in this passage is the power to believe and the power to take that belief and put it into action. Our faith and obedience puts us in a place to witness first hand the supernatural blessings of God in our own life. The power of God in us is only limited by unbelief and disobedience.
Challenge:
If you desire big things in your life from God then it will require that you exhibit big power. This comes with realizing that God is able to fulfill His promise of exceeding anything that we can ask or think, but we must believe God is able to do it and behave accordingly. Trust Him and Obey Him and watch Him do more than you asked for or thought of.
