It’s Not How You Start It’s How You Finish

Scripture:  Ecclesiastes 7:8

Ecclesiastes 7:8 Better is the end of a thing than its beginning; the patient in spirit are better than the proud in spirit. (NRSV)

Being that we are now entering into the second half of this year, the Spirit of God has given me clearance to prophetically declare to each and every person that will receive this; that the end of this year will be better than the beginning. Many of you have had a rough six months and I want you to know that God promises better for you these next six months. For those of you that have had a great beginning of the year God promises even better for the remainder of the year. The chosen scripture is one that cannot be ignored for both its profound and prophetic nature. In this book of wisdom Solomon tells of great stories and observations of real life events that reveal the wisdom of God. While many of us have been wondering in the first half of the year “God what is going on?” God has been setting us up to reveal His power, promise and divine provision in our lives. What is interesting is that if things have been going good or not so good we all have wondered about the details of God’s plan. Well God is going to let you in on some of them in the next six months. There are some things that we must do to experience the fullness of God in the days ahead.

  1. Believe God and His Word -The key to receiving anything from God is wholeheartedly believing in Him and the promise of His Word.  God loves to be believed especially when that belief brings about behavior that is consistent with God’s Word.  Throughout history God has always moved mightily on behalf of those who truly believe in Him and His Word, today is no different.
  2. Seek God Out - This is one area where many people are not aggressive enough.  I know that there are times in all of our lives that we have sought out something that we wanted or even needed and we did it with passion and conviction until we found it.  God wants us to do the same thing, to go after Him with a greater passion and conviction until we find ourselves totally immersed in His presence.  Hebrews 11:6 tells us that God is a “rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”  This means that when we seek God out that He is awaiting us with a reward.  He even makes it easy because in Matthew 7:7 Jesus tell us “seek and ye shall find” God wants us to com after Him with passion.  When we looked for something we desired we knew where to go and how to go about getting it, God has created an easy plan for us to get into His presence, just start.  Whether it is by prayer, talking to God, reading His Word (the Bible), going to church, listening to worship songs, watching a Christian program, or examining the events that are happening in your own life, if you seek Him you will find Him.
  3. Help Someone Else - God is moved when we will do for others.  Often times what you do for others God will do for you.  It is amazing how much better our lives become when we will do something that God wants done but do it for someone else.  Part of the reason is that at least at that moment we are not self-centered we are actually performing up to our created image (in the likeness of God).  God is the perfect example of being giving in all areas and never self-centered because all of the things that God does He does to make our lives eternally better.  Be God-like and do good things for others and you will be amazed at what God will do for you.
The End of this year WILL BE better than the beginning for you says the Word of God, we must only believe Him, seek Him and be like Him.

Challenge:

The remaining part of this year focus on being a better Christian in the eyes of God, not people.
