Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
This particular verse speaks volumes of what God desires to do in all of us right now. God is not waiting for an appointed time for you since that time is now. God tells His people in this verse that He will do a new thing and He will do it now. If you have been looking for answers from God, here it is. The issue for many Christians and people in general is that they only like new things on their terms and in their time frame, but it does not work that way with God. God is sovereign (can do what He wants when He wants), God is omniscient (all-knowing) and God is omnipotent (all-powerful). Therefore, God can and does things on His timetable not on ours. Since we want these new things our way and in our time we often struggle with change. We want better but cannot deliver better for ourselves apart from God’s blessings on the work and labor of our hands. It is clear that God wants to move in our lives right now and that is a wonderful thing if embraced properly. If we allow for God’s will to be done then that is far better than waiting until we are ready for a new thing to happen. Excuses are always available for why we aren’t quite ready to receive what God wants to do in our lives. God also says that we will be privy to what He is doing. He says that we will know it. You have been waiting all of this time for your breakthrough and for a change for the better in your life and now that it is here, are you really ready for God to do something new in you? Remember that God desires to do something that is not the norm or ordinary and to do it in miraculous fashion. Breakaway from your old way of thinking and begin to look for God to do something that He has not been done before in your life. The latter part of this verse says something that should blow your mind. God tells us that He “will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” That is the kind of new thing that He is talking about doing in your life and doing it right now. It is something that is not possible for humans to do but is certainly possible for God to do.
He promises:
1. To do a New thing -God expresses His desire to take you from your old ways and your old place of existence into something new. He desires to take you to another level in Him.
2. To make sure that it happens NOW- God says that it shall spring forth now. Not that it is in the works but that you shall see the manifestation of it now. When something springs forth that means that it is happening not going to happen. He is telling you that right now is your time for a new thing.
3. To make a way in the wilderness-God is telling us that He is going to carve out a path for us in the midst of us being totally lost with no direction. Our old ways often lead us into places with no direction or purpose, but not anymore. God is going to move things out of your way and create a clear path for you to walk in your destiny. If you have ever been lost in a strange place then you know how valuable this is for your life. The wilderness is a hopelessly remote and desolate place, but God promises to make a way out for you; take it.
4. To make rivers in the desert-God promises to provide for our needs. In the desert the most precious commodity is water. It quenches your thirst and cools your body; it is the difference between life and death. God’s provision is that way it is the difference between life and death, poverty and prosperity, and lack and abundance. God is going to do what no one else could do for you; make a river in your desert. He is going to provide for you in ways that are miraculous and humanly impossible.
Remember:
The promises of God are real we have to only believe.
