2016 A Year of Promotion Devotional

Psalm 75:6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge : he putteth down one, and setteth up another. (KJV)

​In 2015 we as a church were challenged by God to be faithful with the promise from Proverbs 28:20a "that a faithful person will be richly blessed." In this challenge to be faithful God promised to richly bless us. It is now in 2016 that we are believing that God will do just as He promised and richly bless our faithfulness with Promotion.


In 2016, individually and collectively we will be Promoted by God to Promote the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.


In Psalm 75 the Psalmist expressed the feelings, thoughts and experiences of David at a time of promotion and governance within his elevation to the position of King. David both learned and experienced that 1. You are to put your trust in God for Promotion and 2. Promotion does not come from the wealth and wisdom of the east, nor the forces that existed in the west or the south. We to can learn that our promotions do not come from family, friends or finances but Only from THE FATHER of Lights from whom there is no shadow of turning and through whom all blessings and promotions flow. David was promoted from a shepherd boy to an anointed, giant slaying, mighty warrior, King of Israel. God has similar plans for all of us in 2016.


As Psalm 75:6 lets us know that God is the judge of whom He will promote or demote. We should position ourselves daily this year for promotion not demotion. It is very clear throughout the Word of God that God promotes those who, like David, are: 1. Preoccupied with Him & His Work (those that make God and His work a true priority in their lives). 2. Praisers of Him (those that praise Him no matter the situation, circumstances or outcome). 3. Promoters of His Message those that are unashamed to accurately share the uncompromising Gospel message of Jesus Christ). 4. Persevering in His Testing (those that continually persevere when they and their faith in God are tested).


Just like in our school system we will be tested for the purpose of promotion in 2016. We must all relay on the teachings we have received from the Word of God (Jesus Christ, The Holy Bible and The Voice of God) to pass the tests that we will face in 2016. Please know that we are only being tested by God because God desires to promote us to the next grade level in our Christian journey. The tests we will face will be tests that are 1. Instructive (they will teach us God's Plan & Purpose). 2. Destructive (they will allow for God's Process of destroying what is not like Him in us and separating us from the things that will hinder our promotion). 3. Constructive (this will allow for God to build us at His Pace so that our promotion is secure). Each of these tests will be 4. Productive (allowing for God to yield the results He desires. This is God's Perfect Payoff to our promotion).


Our God never does anything without a vision, mission and Kingdom project in mind. We can all rest assured that if we do our part that God will certainly do His part in Promoting us to the next level of Kingdom blessings. Therefore, we should stay in a place of expectancy of our promotion in 2016. Expect for God to promote you in areas where you will be able to do more promoting of His message. Look for promotions in 2016 in: 1. Missions (opportunities help others more). 2. Ministry (opportunities to disciple more). 3. Money (opportunities to give more). 4. Maturity (opportunities for God to grow you more in your Christianity).


We all have a great opportunity to be in a better place in every area of our lives this year. God has shown that He is willing, able and the ONLY one who can promote us to the next level. Do not squander this year of Promotion! God has set before us Promotion and demotion, just as we saw in the life of David and that of Saul. Choose to  accept and embrace the Promotion that God has for you and know that He WILL Promote you for the purpose of Promoting the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. See you at the Next Level!
